Terms and Conditions

Wedding Photography Conditions and Terms of Business

It is mutually agreed that the following terms and conditions of agreement form an integral part of this contract and that no variation or modification of this contract shall be effective unless accepted by the Chapman Brown Photography in writing.

A booking fee of £100 is charged when the client signs this contract. This fee is deducted from the total price of the package.

Payment of half the minimum order specified overleaf is to be made 8 weeks prior to the wedding.
Payment of the balance of the minimum order is to be made on receipt of the preview gallery.

The client understands and accepts that the photographic coverage will be as the photographer’s professional expertise determines and that no one photograph will be deemed more important than another. Special requests are not binding instruction, although every effort is made to comply with the client’s wishes.

On occasions and without notice it may be necessary for the photographer originally specified to be substituted by another photographer, (e.g. due to ill health).

All photograph sizes are nominal. The photographer will provide a pleasing colour balance based on the flesh tones of the subjects but cannot guarantee exact colour matching. Owing to anomalous reflectance caused by certain dyes and materials, especially man-made fibres, it is sometimes impossible to record on film or disc the exact colour of the garment as seen by the human eye. Since dyes may change in time, no warranty against or liability for colour change is expressed or implied.

Retouching, digital manipulation and artist finishing is available to the client as an option at additional cost.

The customer acknowledges that the copyright of all photographs, images and recordings made by CHAPMAN BROWN PHOTOGRAPHY belongs to the photographer and no attempt will be made to duplicate the images/recordings by photographic or electronic means.

All goods are supplied at the prices specified overleaf, except re-orders  which are supplied at the prices ruling at the time of supply.

All price are plus VAT (unless otherwise indicated) at the prevailing rate at the time of BOOKING.

The photographer will endeavour to select the most suitable type of equipment, depending upon the occasion. The photographer is not responsible to the customer for any latent defect in  the equipment.
The responsibility of the photographer to compensate the customer in the case of any neglect or breach of contract by the company, its servants or agents (including photographers, processing laboratories and postal or delivery agents) is limited to the cost to the customer of the booked service at the time of booking.
In the case of failure by the photographer to fulfil a booking, whether due to neglect or any other cause the responsibility of the company to compensate the customer is limited to the cost to the customer of the booked service at the time of booking.

The client hereby allows the photographer/s to display any images included in this contract in their studios, portfolios, literature, wedding, exhibitions and advertising.
No use of the images will be made by the photographer/s for other commercial reason except with the written permission of the client.

In the unlikely event of a complaint the customer may request the British Institute of Professional Photography to act as independent arbitrators.
Any complaints should be raised by the client with the photographer/s, in writing, within 28 days of first becoming aware of the matter to be complained of and in any event within 28 days of receipt of the images.

If after acceptance of the booking by the CHAPMAN BROWN PHOTOGRAPHY , the customer wishes to alter the date, time or place of the booked appointment, it is necessary that written notice should be given. The photographer is not bound to accept the alteration. If the photographer is unable or unwilling to accept the alteration the company reserves the right to retain the deposits paid. In the event of cancellation monies paid are not refundable.
In the event of cancellation the customer shall pay the photographer a percentage of the minimum order as compensation of the loss the photographer would suffer. The following sliding scale will apply:
Not more than:
9 months notice – 25% of the minimum agreed order
6 months notice – 50% of the minimum agreed order
3 months notice – 75% of the minimum agreed order
less than 28 days – 100% of the minimum agreed order
